I am planning for a future (maybe) vMix setup and I am wondering if there is any experince here using vMix together with a BlackMagic Design DeckLink Quad 2 SDI capture and playout card?
Does it work in real life as flexible as on paper with the possibility choose inputs and outputs between all eight SDI:s?
How does it handle different video formats as vertical and horisontal?
Does embedded SDI audio work well in vMix?
Any other relevant information?
Pitfalls?

Hi, we are using most decklink sdi capture cards over 10 years including the quad 2 (since availability) in multiple setups for live sports broadcast productions with 4-12 camera's with very dynamic feeds. Once the cards work, they work reliably, including embedded audio.

The issues that we know of are:
The driver is pretty peculiar, meaning that sometimes, the driver may not see the card after random changes such as: an upgrade of windows or a driver, change of hardware, change of port configuration on the Quad 2 itself. After reinstall of the driver, and reconfiguring of the ports things usually work stable gain.

We would still recommend using this card.
