Hi all,

Been away from vMix for a little while but needing to build a system capable of at least 16 SDI In/Out channels. Will either be using 2x Decklick Quad2 or AJA Corvid 88 cards.

Happy to install the GFX and IO cards my self but wanted everything else to be pretty much as turn key as possible to save time.

I dont need to do any more than 2 replay channels at most, I just need the SDI IO capabilities of the Obtanium build rather than replay abilities.

About to start scouring the web for ideas but though I'd ask here first

Thanks

What's your budget? And do you expect to ever expand the system in the future?

If you have lots of $ and only care about time, contact Dell and ask about a workstation with an Ampere series GPU.

If you want future expandability, you may need to build something. Workstation grade is pretty much the main area you'll find a motherboard and CPU with enough PCIe lanes to really have room for expansion.

Thanks for the reply.

Money not really a factor for this build. Main needs are reliability and number of channels. To be honest, most projects this machine will be used for are just 4-5 ins and 2-4 outs so the 16 channels I have specified already allows for growth and flexibility.

Given the real need, Socket 2066 might be sufficient
x299 motherboard + i9-10980xe

or platform AM5 + Ryzen 9

and invest later in a larger configuration if really necessary
