Hey there,
We have streamed to Vimeo for years but yesterday could not connect whatsoever. we tried 3 different computers but none of them would connect and showed the same error. In the end we had to use OBS which connected straight away with the same settings/key etc. i'll paste the error log below if anyone has any ideas. Much appreciated.

Looks like in your stream settings, you chose "Custom RTMP Server" for the destination instead of "Vimeo", but didn't actually put in the proper RTMP server address. It shows "placeholder.example.com" which you are supposed to replace with the correct address.

So weirdly, we have had the RTMP settings in as custom RTMP (rtmps://rtmp-global.cloud.vimeo.com:443/live) but also tried via the vimeo option too and still get the same error with that example address in it

so just to follow up, we have got it working now. I've deleted the stored streams we had under custom RTMP and re-added them, and it works.
when we used the vimeo drop down and selected our test stream settings it didn't work. I take it that VMix pulls the available stream information from the live broadcasts we had scheduled within vimeo? if this is the case then i have no idea why the example url was showing.
We've always just used the custom RTMP option and pasted the URL and stream keys in, just so we can visually cross reference the characters in each before going live.

I operate the same way. I always use custom RTMP server, even though I stream to YouTube and could just use the YouTube selection. Why? I don't know, I guess I just like copy/pasting the URL and stream key from the YouTube site. :)
