I'm trying to create a board to use with both my atem studio and vmix. I know I can control the atem with xkeys but I did not know if I can control vmix with one.
Does anyone know for sure?
If I could then It would be simple to lay 2 xkeys side by side and program the buttons for each with one going to the atem and the other to vmix. It would be like having a single control surface for both.
Any advice or help would be great!

I have tested xkeys with vMix and it works. The simplest process is to map the vMix shortcuts to xkeys buttons. I believe the process is simpler than what is required for Atem. I only tested it briefly, but it is on my cards to fully implement xKeys as a working vMix solution, hopefully in the next month.

We combined xKeys with Autohotkey. I mapped the xKeys to send a keystroke combination. Autohotkey listened for those and subsequently activated vMix and sent keystrokes which mapped to shortcuts.
Autohotkey was used because we regularly have other software open and active, so autohotkey handles switching the active program.
In one of those old videos Martin hinted that he was creating something specific in vMix to work with xKeys. I haven't seen anything yet, but I haven't been paying close attention.

Hey Jason! We are actually in development of a vMix software controller that will be able to control vMix and eventually an ATEM Switcher at the same time. Along with the software controller we are creating a hardware controller that will also have the same functionality. The switcher will have: 12 Program Buttons 12 Preview Buttons 12 Overlay Buttons 8 User Function Keys T-Bar Auto Button (Switches using Transition 1) Take Button FTB Button Stay Tuned here in for forums because will be announcing more details very soon!

Yes I saw that. What is the timeline? I am looking for something that can be delivered in the next 45 days.

Yeah I like Mike but I'm not paying a thousand bucks for a glorified xkey I can program for 300 bucks.
