I've run into a few situations where I've lost an input for one reason or another.

A loose camera cable that I realize I needed to secure with something to make sure it doesn't come disconnected was one of the most important.

Today was another. We use vMix screen capture with an NDI input and it was necessary to power cycle the switch this morning which briefly dropped the network connection to the computer. Our lyrics didn't feed to our output.

We were already streaming live when I discovered this so there wasn't any way to fix this.

The only way I have found to get the inputs back is to restart vMix. Is there another way?

Coming from OBS for example if the camera lost power or the cable came out as soon as it came back up all was good again.

Thanks in advance.

Try resetting the input after reconnecting....( right click on the input and hit Reset) .that works for me....most of the times...

I have used ffprobe to check whether rtmp stream is alive or not. If it's back alive, sending http request to vmix api would be easy to do. I have wrote a C# program for this.
By he way is it possible to reset input by API functions? or scripts?

Sorry it took me awhile to have a chance to try this.

Works like a charm!

Thanks so much!

This happened to me this morning. Network had to be rebooted. Ndi monitor showed the stream. Vmix never picked it back up. Where do I right click and refresh in this new version? Can't find it. Ended up adding a new input of the ndi monitor as a work around
