Obtanium Build (but with 5070 Ti) not booting - Gigabyte MW83-RP0 w/ Xeon W5-2565X - No display, no beep codes, just intermittent fans

Finished a build from scratch last night and cannot get it to post, can’t even get a display. First off, build specs (essentially the Obtanium Reference System with a GPU difference):

PROCESSOR (CPU) - Intel Xeon W5-2565X

MOTHERBOARD - Gigabyte MW83-RP0

GRAPHICS CARD (GPU) - GeForce RTX 5070 Ti

PRIMARY STORAGE (SSD) - Samsung 990 PRO 1TB M.2

SECONDARY STORAGE (SSD) - Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB M.2

MEMORY (RAM) - Corsair 64GB WS DDR5 5600MTs (4x 16GB sticks)

CAPTURE CARDS - 2x Blackmagic Decklink Quad 2

CPU COOLER - Silverstone XE360-4677 AIO
360mm Radiator with 3x 120mm Fans

POWER SUPPLY (PSU) - Seasonic Focus GX-1000 V4 1000W

CASE - SilverStone SST-RM44 Server Case

Things I have tried so far: swapped the 5070 Ti with an old 1050 Ti, HDMI gives me no display with either.

Removed the Decklinks in case they were causing some interference, will reseat later once I’m past installing Windows.

I tried VGA direct from the motherboard, still no dice. With and without a GPU seated.

Reduced memory modules from 4x16GB memory sticks to 2x16GB and 1x16GB stick, no difference.

Tried booting with the BIO_RCVR (BIOS Recovery) jumper in either Default and On positions, tried BIOS_PWD jumper (BIOS Password Reset) swapped as well.

I double checked that the CPU pins were good and I don't see any issues.

As far as I can tell, no bent pins on the board. So I’m just completely up against the wall at this point. Any thoughts?

I was unable to find any directions on upgrading the BIOS without any sort of display. Gigabyte's manual only showed how to upgrade it by navigating into the BIOs, but I literally just have a black screen regardless of what GPU I use, discrete or integrated.

Hi

Several tests...

Make sure the RAM is placed in the sockets that fit according to the manual.

Temporarily connect the graphics card to a different PCIe than the first one. On the fifth, sixth or seventh PCIe

If the above does not work, then try a minimal assembly but with the motherboard on a table with foam outside the box. Only graphics, minimal RAM and the power supply. Turn on by bridging the pins that correspond to the power on the motherboard.

If it still fails, try testing with another power supply.

1a. remove the capture cards
1. are the fans spinning on the 5070 ti
2. is the cpu fan spinning
3. try to boot with 1 stick of ram. with each boot attempt try another stick
4. the 5070 ti most likely has 3 Display Port outputs and 1 HDMI out. Try them all.
5. each time you do a new reboot click the power to off on the power supply to discharge the system.
6. make sure the correct power cables are being plugged into the correct spots. they may have the right number of pins but should be labeled PCIe and CPU.
7. try another power supply


What happens when you hit the power button. Are there beeps....do fans spin...is there a code of flashing lights from the motherboard

This can be the best way to find out why your system will not POST. Most systems do not come with that small internal speaker. Worth having one on hand as a troubleshooting tool.
