Hi, currently running vMix off a HP zBook Create G7 with i9 and RTX 2060 Max-Q which I got during lockdown. I'm now using vMix primarily for GFX overlays to an ATEM switcher using an UltraStudio 4K Mini, and moving forward I'll also be using the Zoom integration - however the zBook is starting to have issues on a regular basis and as we're upgrading the system in my lecture theatre, I'm thinking a desktop would be more power for less money.

Unfortunately due to government procurement, my organisation is limited to buying on a framework from HP so no custom builds. I'm looking at a HP Z2 i9-14900K, 64GB RAM, and RTX 4070 Super and was hoping to get a Blackmagic DeckLink 8K Pro / Mini but there are no spare 16x or 8x PCIe. There is an option for a dual Thunderbolt 3 card, so can use existing UltraStudio and there's room to expand.

My question is, had anyone one used a pre-built HP Z workstation and if so, what was the experience. Not specifically HP, but had anyone used a 4x PCIe card to add Thunderbolt does it work okay.

Lastly I've seen the Blackmagic Media Player 10G which seems very similar to the UltraStudio - had anyone used it with vMix?

the problem is to know the model of the motherboard to know how many pcie slots are available
and if the motherboard can divide the cpu lines between the pcie slots for gpu and capture card

otherwise an hp pc with ultra 9 285k instead of the i9-14900k
because the intel 2025 cpu natively manages thunderbolt 4
