I was about to purchase the vmix max then upgraded from v 27 to v 28. in v27 for set up for twitter using rtmp it was an item in the pull down box. It let you press a link button to connect or log in to twitter. This worked great. Now that I have v28 twitter or x.com has been removed from the stream pull down box. I can try to to manual rtmp but missing the log in button that completes the process. Now with the new v 28 im trying to go into x under their create video but it forces you to set a specific time for a stream and I cant even get that working.

What im trying to do is set up a stream for x.com that can be used at any time, without scheduling a specific day or time. Before, any time I started the stream on vmix it would work fine on x. Any suggestions or help? thanks, Tom

I need to be a little more clear on my issue. I can not link vmix to x.com. it was working perfectly on v27. but on v28.0.0.35 or .35 it will not link. I set up using rtmp. I put the rtmp server in and also the stream key. now i hit the advance button. that takes me to a generic sign in screen. its probably x.com but does not say that. i put in my x.com user name and password and hit ok. the box immediately goes away without telling me anything. When i check x.com for apps linked it does not show vmix.

x instructions for linking tell me to go to my app (vmix) and it will connect and authenicate. but it never will. v27 worked fine. Tom

Yes, X-Twitter is still working on Version 27. I hope the admin still includes the last API of X that works with Version 27. -Philip

Hi,

You will now need to use Custom RTMP Server with the RTMP details provided by Twitter/X to manually stream.
The API is no longer supported.

Note this means you do not need to login and should leave everything under Advanced blank.

All you need is the RTMP details which will be provided by the streaming provider to copy and paste.

I have tried rtmp with no luck. When i set it up with vMix 27 a month ago, on my first attempt to connect it came back with the message "authorize vmix to access your account: I did this and when you check the security on x.com it did show that the app vMix was connected and approved to connect.

now with v28 I never get the "authorize vmix to access your account" vmix does not show up under the list of approved apps that can connect to x.com

I think this should happen when i set up the rtmp and then hit the "advanced button" that gives you the login for user name and password screen on x. That would then tell x that vmix is an approved app that can access x.com but when I enter the user name and password the screen just instantly goes away and does nothing.

the problem is x.com is not authorizing the vmix to access it. I have sent a note to support. hope they can help. It worked fine on v27 Windows 10 here

As mentioned, there is no login anymore as this has been removed from vMix 28.

You will need to find the RTMP settings for the stream on your X/Twitter account and copy and paste them into vMix.
Refer to the X documentation on where to find this in their broadcaster settings.

We've just put together a guide to assist in finding the RTMP details:
