I have a raspberry Pi 4 running Companion on my network. I have a desktop with companion satellite and 3 streamdecks attached. The desktop is also running vmix 27. The issue I'm running into is that companion Pi sees desktop vmix as a connection when I add it to the connection tab but the streamdeck buttons do not do anything (after configuring the buttons for presets and inputs. I also get a time out error on the desktop vmix connection tab.I have checked the firewall to ensure port 8099 is not blocked and made the network public. I don't have any issue with two laptops running vmix 27 on either wifi or ethernet on my network. Yet, the desktop vmix wont take any input commands from streamdeck or emulator. The one thing that works is if I run companion on the desktop itself but the reason for Pi is portability and using of other laptops on the go. What diagnosis can I start off with?

Sure you using the right tool? To control vmix via the pi4 you need bitfocus „Companion Pi“ With „companion satellite“ you can connect to your pi4 companion via a second raspy. On your vmix pc no companion is needed. otherwise Sounds like a network connection problem. Check if you can access the Companion Admin User Interface from your vmix pc. (User Interface on port 8000 of that IP address from your pi4 (i.e. http://192.168.1.3:8000). Or Check if you can access vmix from the second notebook via webcontroller https://www.vmix.com/help27/WebController.html

Yes, I am running Companion Pi on my pi4. I can access it on any computer on my network. The vmix pc with the connection issue I can also access the companion admin user interface and also the web controller from a laptop. Would shortcuts or activators be an issue or central control software (control my midi)? I know that vmix uses 8099 for tcp api but im wondering why this specific pc cannot be accessed by companion but other pc's running vmix have no issue.

Have you tried turning off the firewall to see if that's the problem?
