If you want cheap, grab a few EasyCap USB capture devices.

I have seen someone put 8 of these on a decent USB hub and it worked.

I use 2 on a CCTV server for a couple old cameras, great devices and work 24/7 without a problem.
DO NOT GET THE 4 PORT VERSION! Will not capture 4 inputs at the same time, only 1 channel at a time.

Yes, it can. Not very cheap, but has good opinion.

Do You want to use it on laptop or desktop PC?

If it's for normal PC and you are in Europe I can offer you a very good 4-input SD card for about 220 euro (+ shipping).

It's internal PCI-express card - Osprey 450e.

I bought it in April 2011 for 800 euro and used it for about... 20-30 hours.
I wanted to go HD and that's why I didn't use it much.
So it's like new one.

Very good quality product, very stable, with build in hardware deinterlacer.

Let me know if You are interested in it. Of course, I will check if it works right, before shipping.

Oh, I don't rememberer where I saw so many connected, it was part of a CCTV system but it is just like running vMix.

Did you have all the drivers installed and up to date?

thanks jackcaster, you have all the drivers installed, the problem is that since they are equal the easycap, are also the same driver, and when you open Vmix input, you can find all cards with the same name.

Magewell XI006AUSB is not a capture card per say, but rather a USB interface capture Box, and may very well be the best solution for you offering up to 6 SD inputs, unless you are looking for an actual expansion card to install into your desktop.
You may be able to find some older Osprey SD cards at a reasonable cost on eBay or the like, but they are generally considered "obsolete" or out of date compared to current HD and 4K cards, or you could consider some of the other Magewell Hybrid cards for the best "bang for your buck".
Typically, "low cost" is a relative term but I would suspect you'll have a hard time finding solutions at less than US $100 per input.

@IceStream

I would say SD is "obsolete" to HD & 4K, not the Osprey cards. Not every Osprey card, for sure.

@op music

Can't recommend Osprey 440. It's PCI-X, so it's not compatible with PCI-Express slot. Also, there is a topic about some tearing problem in 440, here: http://forums.vmix.com.a....aspx?g=posts&t=1655

Typically, yes, this card has been used successfully in the past, but some have had issues with it:

http://forums.vmix.com.a....aspx?g=posts&t=1655

Again, this card is not "officially" on the supported list (I suspect largely because it is older, analogue and not HD):

http://www.vmix.com.au/supported-hardware.aspx

So you'll be taking a chance if you go for it as there is no "real" support for it and drivers may not be up to date.
You may also have to confirm that you have a proper slot for it in your computer.

I don't mean to be negative, or suggest that these are not good cards... They were top of the line in their day ($1000 US just a few years ago), but there is a reason they are discounted on eBay.
I suggest doing as much research and investigation as possible to make sure it will work with your hardware and cameras before you jump in.

would not call SD obsolete

but if you can buy the Magewell XI006AUSB and have a usb3 port with 6 inputs this is good prodcut for your money
around 300 dollars?

then again if your doing analog and you can use 10 dollaa esaycap usb devices then 300 is expensif.
