Im new to vmix. I have been using telestream wirecast for about 10 years. I have a question about ndi.
vmix is running on a desktop. I have a laptop that I use to bring in various websites, play videos etc . I have NDI running on the laptop and it sends perfectly to the vmix. It appears that NDI is bringing both video and audio from the laptop to the vmix pc. I run a phone connection on the laptop where viewers can call in to the show. I have audio from viewers that easily goes into to vmix, but i need to return the shows audio to the phone connections on the laptop so callers can hear
what cohost are saying. in other words i need ndi to give me 2 way audio. Is this possible? If so can someone help me with the detail i need to get it working? If not i will have to do a wired audio connection. Thank you, Tom

Hello. This phone connection app can accept audio mic? Then it can be done
If yes open in the laptop the ndi tools program called "ndi webcam". Then in Vmix go to settings-->outputs/ndi/srt-->additional NDI outputs and enable it. Then go to Audio Outputs and enable a Audio Bus for example A make it "Enabled" and after vmix restart you will see that in vmix audio mixer will appear in any audio source the A button. For any audio source from studio you need the phone callers to hear, press to it the A button.
Then go to your laptop-->ndi webcam-->ndi webcam 1 and select as source the Ndi out-->vmix Bus A from your vmix pc. Then to the phone app as audio mic, select the ndi webcam 1. Now the callers should be able to hear your studio talents.

@ w5kub

NDI is not bi-directional or “two-way” in the manner you describe (or would like).
As nikosman88 alludes to, you essentially need to send vMix audio back to your laptop, which can be done via NDI but you need an NDI capable application on the laptop to decode and process that and then your phone app needs to be able to access that audio.
The FREE vMix Basic might be handy for something like that or the NDI Tools Studio Monitor and/or Virtual Audio Cables may also be required depending on how your phone application works.
