Hi everyone,

Having some issues here with vmix audio routing.

I have a host here in studio which i created BUS A for so he can have a custom ear mix. I am sending him all mics (except his), guests, and music. I have his audio out routed to a scarlett 2i2 1/4 jack and that runs to his actual earpiece. I had to do this as I can't send him master because he will hear himself on slight delay.

Only issue - when I do this and create a bus A - for some reason all guests remoting in on vmixcall hear themselves and we cannot do interviews.

As soon as I disable bus A the echoing for guests goes away. But now my talent IFB gets master and his mic as well (no mix/minus).

Any help would be amazing guys.

Thank you.

Hello. If you do studio talents and 1 vmix call is easy. Because you can send to this vmix call one bus as audio source and another bus from vmix call to studio back. The thing starts to be more complex when we have 2 or more vmix calls and we need to send to them only the studio talents voices and vmix callers be able to hear each other. Easy solution for that i also didnt find
Some videos like this
and this
are using equiment outside vmix and this do things more complex.
As feature request i would like vmix to give us the way to combine and send more than 1 bus to vmix calls and everywhere else.
Other than this a very easy (but paid solution for more 360p and 40' per call) is the zoom calls or other system call free like skype/teams,maybe the vdo ninja rooms etc but all these demand 2nd pc (im using skype in 2nd pc and then i ndi the callers) while zoom calls are inside vmix. Simply send your talent bus mic to zoom meeting, select to every zoom caller the bus for your talent and then zoom can do the mix that required to be able the callers to hear each other. Im using 2nd pc and skype, ndi webcam tools for more than 1 guest. For 1 guest or when dont need vmix callers hear each other, vmix call is great.
If you find a vmix call trick that can work inside vmix without other external devices or dante, please write it

A remark from my side to the mix minus video.
Don't route the callers to the master. If you want to talk to them before they come to live you would have all the talk on the stream. Route the bus to the master instead. This way you have a single button (the M on the bus) to bring the callers live.

You can also safe the producer bus if you use the solo either on the call itself or on the caller bus. This requires a dedicated audio output for the headphones which was not given in the video.

Hope that helps.

Hi. In my research to do this inside vmix or at least at same vmix pc without dante and other things, i found a program called avsono audio router. With this program we can take the ndi outs from vmix directly (for example our mics and vmix calls),combine them and send them back into vmix and then route them in a bus per call making mix minus.
I see that the ndi out from avsono program inside vmix can be multichannel but in the audio bus is 2 channel. So this way we cannot use 1 bus to record 4 separate audio channels. And also because the ndi is only audio i see in the multicorder that cannot be recorded directly as source so we would have our channels for record in way we need without intefere with the limited bus selection. But for routing i see that it has a good potential until vmix 29 or vmix 3x version that may give us better bus routing. There also exist the avsono video-audio embedder that can be used to multicorder as ndi but this have at least for me,latency and load of my system

All you need is already there. Bus mixer and Bus router. Inside vMix. Open the gear icon in the audio section and you get a lot of audio specific options.
If this is still not enough, then I suggest you take a look into Lama mix and Lama connect. With Lama connect you get a NDI source with up to 256 audio channels that stay in sync over time and that can be send over NDI bridge. Might be interesting for you if you need a broadcast audio desk in software.

Lama mix and connect i see that is for bigger shows than what we need and also subscription.
Yes i see bus mixer and bus router. But.. let`s say i have 2 vmix calls and studio talents. For the studio talents i have in the bus G a usb sound card out that goes in studio speakers. Then whatever i need to send to studio talents to hear i check the G bus and they hear. Then to avoid the voice echo to the caller i select in the studio mics (zoom ams-44 that gives 4 mics inside vmix) the bus F and in the vmix call in audio source i select Bus F and im ok. But.. When there is 2 vmix callers and need to hear each other, while i have in the audio source in Vmix calls the F bus, vmix callers can hear both the studio talents but not hear each other.
That`s why im using skype, ndi webcam, other pc because compared to zoom is free and it has also ability for HD calls if the guest has good connection.
So for 2 vmix calls.. What im missing? Is there exist way for sending only the each other audio (caller1 should get the talents mics audio and caller2 audio, while caller2 should get talents mic audio and caller1 audio) and not the master?

There is an Automatic Mix Minus for the calls. Just send both calls to the return bus (F) and you‘re set.
