I Would use a transparent png as an overlay in a Multiview. Make the PNG with a small patterned oval image, then reduce the opacity of that oval. Now when setting up the shot, use the position function for the overlay to align it to the face.

That should work for a static interview.

the only issue is if the guy moves.

I was wondering if there was any sort of tracking type software that could be used to lock to his face.

I will prob just make a large block to account for him moving - but was hoping for a cooler solution :D

Ralph,

It might be useful to blur the face before it gets to vMix. For example, I have used ManyCam and its filters and then take that output via their virtual webcam as an input into vMix.

If your subject is a talking head, you might be able to use their "Eyeglasses Anonymous" filter that tracks the face, and puts a rectangular blur over the eyeglass area.

Thanks -

Yea - I don't see this as a crazy expensive "bbc" feature - -

I see it as something snapchat or facebook messenger easily do.

So I figured there might be a way to pull in a filter to vmix -

but I will look into that option...

WARNING: Blur effects should not be relied upon for obscuring sensitive items or people's faces.

There is a reason journalists never do this live. You can't guarantee safety. Just. don't. do. it.
