Hi all,
I'm wondering if you can help? As part of my production I'm looking to play back the following elements: photo, video and GT graphics in a sidebar alongside my main output - think like an L bar on a news channel etc
All the graphics elements are built to 9x16 and working, videos playing and photos the correct ratio too.
Here's my issue, a slideshow will only play photos, a Playlist will play ALL of the above, however it is full screen and takes over the entire production - whereas I need it to be sized 9x16 for my side bar. A List will play photo and video (but not graphics) but even then the photos don't auto play, so this doesn't work.
My main question is... Can a playlist be resized to only be on part of the screen, or used as an Overlay, or does it (as currently is the case) have to play on the main output covering everything.
thanks,

Thanks,
That's great, and has somewhat helped, is it possible for a playlist to be set as a layer in the 'Layers' tab on an individual input? (as far as I'm aware it can't as its not listed) I only want this to appear on my main camera input, and not over the whole production, nor to have to turn it on and off when i cut between cams.
Any advice would be massively appreciated.

No, a Playlist is not a single input, so it can't be placed on a layer. In the Overlay settings you can set a channel type from Fullscreen to Picture in Picture, maybe this helps in your setup. https://www.vmix.com/help27/Overlay2.html

I am fairly new to vMix. vMix has a tutorial on creating a "Squeeze" on YouTube. You can copy "uCyAUZeoFQo" and insert it in the YouTube search box to bring it up. There may be other squeeze videos as well.
This looks like it might be similar to what you are wanting to do.

So a way to do what you need 1.Do the playlist as overlay let`s say overlay 1 channel 2.Add input-->mix input 3.In this mix input you can send your camera 4.Setup the overlay channel 1 to be shown only on the mix input you need,so if you dont want it to be appear in the main pgm output, you will de-select in the shortcut you need to make to enable it on other mix inputs because if you simply press the overlay button it will go to basic pgm input 5.Then this mix input can be send as out in any of the 4 output by going -->settings-->outputs-->and select in the drop out menu the mix input you need and also of the "all on" overlay menu beyond the 4 outputs, you will de-select the overlay 1 in which you dont want the overlay 1 to be appear in main pgm output 6.In the "mix input" input you have also the 10 layers to add if you need something more and flatten the layer if need for more compositing layers 7.Be aware if you have more mix inputs,to keep their order same and not move them around because if mix3 becomes mix2 and vice versa, etc it will change the whole "system" or another way simply make an empty mix input, green screen,or colour key the not needed area,or crop it,enable the playlist overlay channel and take this mix input as layer in your other base camera input! Maybe if you need to crop this mix input inside your base camera layer, maybe you will need in this mix input settings to enable the option "flatten layers" So yes in Vmix 28 we can overlay a playlist! The vmix 28 beta release is here for testing https://forums.vmix.com/...vMix-28-Preview-ReleasedOriginally Posted by: dmwkr No, a Playlist is not a single input, so it can't be placed on a layer.
