Hi everyone, I'm new to working with VMix and could use some help to optimize my new setup.

I have an audio trigger setup for a video list (which contains four commercials) that mutes the commentators when the video plays. When transitioning in and out of the video, the commentators' audio is set to mute ("Off") while the video plays. However, I sometimes need to cut the video short and switch to a specific camera angle.

Here's where the problem comes in: when the audio trigger is set to "Off" and I cut the video short to a different angel before it finishes, the "On" trigger to bring the commentators' audio back on, doesn't activate, because VMix only turns the audio back on after the video has finished playing.

Is there a way to set a trigger for a cut (not just transition in/out) so that the commentators' audio comes back on immediately, even if the video isn't finished?

Thanks in advance!

If you are using 'Triggers', set up a keyboard 'Shortcut' to turn on the Audio on, so you can turn it On when you need it.

Hi. The trigger "on transition out" means that it does the action with any way (cut direct, fade, etc) you change the pgm source that is in that moment. The "on completion" only when video finishes. Also if this doesnt work you can do "on transition in" to the specific camera angle so it will open the mic when this specific camera angle is to pgm

I know you said "no" to this, but it sounds like you're using "OnCompletion", rather than "OnTransition".

If the unmuting is accompanying a cut, couldn't you use an OnTransition trigger?

That's really your only option for a trigger.

Otherwise, you can manually activate it, or use shortcuts for your transitions and tie it into that.

Thank you all! I noticed that the 'transition on' feature seems to work only when using the 'Auto' button, but not with the 'Cut' button. It looks like the functionality is tied to transitions, so it won't apply to direct cuts. I found a workaround by assigning shortcuts to my camera inputs (1-4) so that when I switch between cameras, the commentators' microphones are unmuted automatically. This setup seems to be working well so far. Hope that explanation makes sense!

What you're describing hasn't been my experience & seems counter-intuitive.

Can you walk us through your workflow, step by step, with what you're doing, expecting to see, and not seeing?
