We have a few large projects where we want to rearrange our inputs to make the project easier to navigate. However, we always avoid rearranging inputs because it will "change" the output assignment.

For example, I setup a Browser input on Input 20, then assigned Input 20 to Output 4.

If I move Input 20 to Input 10, everything appears fine. However, Output 4 is still assigned to Input 20, which is now showing whatever was on Input 19.

We need Output 4 to "follow" and automatically reassign Output 4 to Input 10.

While we can rearrange inputs and update the Output assignments via Settings, this is impractical while live. Additionally, in the event an operator unintentionally reorders an input via drag-and-drop, it would change what goes live to our audience. These scenarios are completely preventable.

Automatic output reassignment would guarantee that any rearranging of inputs would have no impact on outputs.

Until they add this (maybe never?) move the things you want pinned to outputs to the first 3 inputs of your project. As you move anything around beyond input 4 it won't affect your desired output sources.

All assignments in vMix should be to selected input. An option to assign to input number can be an option
