Hi all, I have an old Panasonic camera that is DVCPRO HD format, and want to use it in vMix as live input, but I cannot seem to find a way to get vMix to see the camera. .. Is there a converter that will downscale to the format that vMix will recognise. Thank you all in advance

Hello. This is with dv cassete camera? see what outputs it has. Hdmi out or s-video/composite only? You need a capture card that will convert the right signal. What is the camera model?

What is the camera model? Which output do you use? What is the capture device on the vMix PC? Does other software on the vMix PC see the output with this capture device? Can you see the output on different hardware (monitor, PC, ...)? As you are talking about DVCPRO HD: Does that mean you are tryining to capture it via Firewire?

Thanks. You gave me idea! There exist in aliexpress some cheap component out to hdmi converters. The simple rca converters to hdmi dont have good resolution. I bought one for 13$ in order to try my old jvc hdv camera!

Yes, they work, but they do not seem to accept DVCPro format...I have the expensive converters from blackmagic, analogue to SDI converters and they do not work....I also have AJA converter, and that does not seem to work....I just want to use this camera as an input for my live shoots, as it is still in excellent condition, and works great ... I have P2 cards with it, even a capture device with a built-in hard drive, but for live shooting I have to use a converter for HDMI, or SDI, and nothing I have does not seem to work

As i see these cameras (i have a jvc gy-hd110 and a sony hdr-fx1E) can give hd out from component out. And in their menu you can select the resolution out. Did you try all the availiabe resolutions?

I havea 2 jvc gy-hd200, 1 Canon XH A1, and they all work, as they have component out, but they use the standard HD out, 720p, and 1080i, which can be set from the menu, but the Panasonic HVX 200 does not use the same format, it uses the format used for P2 cards, DVXPro... all I want is a converter to down convert to standard HD format

A partner had it. I made a research for component connection and i found this https://www.dvxuser.com/...dmi-sdi-recorder.344900/ the post #5 that says "We have two BMD Component to HD-SDI converters to connect our 2 HVX cameras to our video switcher. Though I can say, switching between a HVX & a EX1, HVX looks like garbage. It was an amazing camera back in the day, but nearly everything else out there will probably give you more pleasing results." so your bmd converter has a way to see the camera. And also i have seen another post about connection it said that if from component you set it up as 720p 50 or 60, the converter should be able to see it
