Freeze output / preview option

Option to freeze preview or output, in case something goes wrong and we want to freeze a certain event / frame live (we know you can capture a source but this takes longer and doesn't capture overlays that are not assigned to that source). So by freezing an entire state you could hold a certain action or frame when something is happening or when you need to get some additional time if something is happing on stage (or something is not happening on stage). Also to freeze a certain countdown timer on start of a show or freeze an overlay, hold a frame of a call / ndi source,...)
Lots of options where this could be usefull.

I would prepare for these situations with imapes taken in advance or by a datasource. I use a background image that I can display text on it that is fed through a csv file. You can very easy change the csv or add another line for some other wording.

Hey Mavik,
Yes I understand but last week for example we had a show with a bumper that ended on alpha and had an animated overlay (also with alpha). We had to pause the animation to get a few extra seconds before the next speaker was ready. Pausing multiple animations is not easy to do manually at the same time (unless you scripted / programmed it but that was not supposed to happen wo we didn't). If we then go to a still image after you have a bumper to announce someone that doesn't look professional (especially when it ends with animated transparancy) So that was a moment we could really use a freeze to hold the animation a few seconds and then manually fade from that point to the speaker when he was ready :)
I'll admit i don't need this every show but it would be handy to have, I missed this function already on a few shows :)

Why don't you use the "pause" shortcut. Add the shortcut to the corresponding input and duplicate it for all other inputs that should pause with it. Once the assigned key/button/controll is hit it will pause all at once.

+1 This is ideal for freezing a Powerpoint presentation (from another computer via NDI Desktop Capture) when something is going wrong or when switching to a new presentation.
Pause is only for playing content.

Also I use quite a lot external outputs and capture PowerPoint in, and sometimes client asks to freeze. I usually use a shortcut with hover function sending inputs to different outputs or fullscreen. I’d like to combine it with freezing function :)
At the moment I have to take a snapshot and add it as an image and then can do it. So this freeze would cut a lot of steps for me.
Thank you
