Hi All,

Overview: We are an AV business doing corporate AV. We frequently do live streams or record only for our clients. We want to record in a fault tolerant format that is quick to edit and turn around for our clients.

Frequently recordings are many hours long. Re-encoding to another format is not practical, we need to import and edit asap.

We typically record with vMix AVI SQ. My experience editing it on Premiere in windows is very problematic. Takes forever to load in the timeline, frequently crashes, basically takes me 4x longer to edit.

I was wondering if anyone else has these problems with Premiere, is it a Premiere thing or a vMix AVI thing?

Would I be better off recording in ProRes or another format? What is everyone doing?

Have you tried running your files through vMix Video Tools? It has an option to repair avi files.
