when I have an input that uses multiple layers, like a sports scoreboard, I want my X-Keys or StreamDeck controller to respond when certain layers of the input are active. One example is a timeout flag, or a sponsor logo. Being able to light up those buttons on the controller in repsonse to an input layer status makes it faster and easier to locate them to turn them off. Also if layers are hiding under other elements, it would give me feedback if the underneath layer is active or not.

you are talking about embedded layers in a title right, not input layers ?

Correct. "When I have a title with multiple layers...."

Currious on how you turn on/off GT title layers unless one is using pages. AFAIK there is no function to hide/unhide title layers hence no indication if turned on/off usable for active status

OH I see what you mean. In that case I mispoke. These are input layers using the LayerOnOff shortcut. I corrected my initial post.

ok. But there is still no usefull (API) indiction to act upon. A script that keeps track of a layer status through a variable might work but for correctnes one would need to use a layerOn and a LayerOff shortcut, not the toggle one as there is currently no way to verify the correctnes of the variable versus visibility

Asking for a layer status would be more usefull imo

I see. Not knowing what API's are available, I was assuming something similar to an overlay. My shortcut toggles the overlays on and off as well and the system "knows" the current status and acts accordingly. I understand you are trying to get down to the root issue here.

+1 to Add Activators for Layers - on/off It would be great to see the reaction on the stream deck when the input layer is active. All my shows are built around this...

Am I missing something here? I already do this on a daily basis.

The key is in checking which input is on the layer, not whether it is on or off. Changing the layer source between "None" and "Whatever Input You Like" does trigger feedback which can show on Streamdeck.

The Companion command to set the layer is something like "Set layer X on Y input" - on first press, set it to the input you want; on second press set it to None.

Then for feedback it's something like "Check if Input X is on Layer Y of Input Z"
