Timecode supported Codecs & File Formats. Many of these codecs are supported within vMix via the FFmpeg encoder. Please support the vMix Professional Community by including this requested feature.

I came here looking for answers to this feature request and I'm massively disappointed to see that a simple time-of-day timecode recording feature request has gone unanswered for so long. Even if time-of-day (drop-frame) was the only option it would still be better than nothing. Especially when you consider that we're frequently dealing with multiple synchronized recordings in the form of interviews to full panel discussions.
Any thoughts on when this request will be addressed?

I'm starting a new show soon and this feature would be incredibly helpful.

Hi I'm Antonio from Rome A few years ago I worked on the project of a Video Server Recorder / Player for the cinema market. I remember the development engine was FFMPEG. The designer installed in the server an ADRIENNE card that could read or generate the Time Code. With this solution, it was possible to synchronize 4 video and audio channels simultaneously and generated the Video Files with Time Code inside. I think that (if desired) it can be a solution (to be given as an option) to interested customers

Unfortunately Antonio vMix is not equipped to interface with hardware timecode solutions AFAIK. Hence the proposal for a simple software solution within vMix ('Time of Day' timecode and/or 'Preset Time' timecode). All generated within the computer, using the in-built timer hardware. Appreciate the thought though.
Perhaps in vMix 26.

This would be a game changer. I’m addition to the time of day, if we really want to slap the professional label on this feature request, I think we really need additional options. Personally, I want the option to sync the vmix recording to a time code generator. I’ve been looking at the Atomos Ultrasync and the UltraSyncBlue (Bluetooth transceiver). We really need an easy way to sync timecode of the vmix recording to ISO recordings. This seems like it would be fairly simple to add either by audio input or maybe even via Bluetooth communicating with the UltraSyncBlue.

+1 I see many clients requesting this feature, alongside EDL. It's very often the reason why they prefer blackmagic over vMix: Timecode and EDL make the post production workflow easier.
