We currently route out of vMix 4 x audio busses A B C D that have to go to our external mixer, these are zoom rooms NDI inputs into vMix.

Each of the 4 outputs are sent out via an individual USB audio interface device (listed below) to the mixer...

1 x Behringer UMC 202HD
1 x Minifuse 1
1 x M-Audio M-Track Solo
1 x Fosi Audio DAC-Q4

*We did have 2 x Tascam devices installed US-2x2 HR and US-4x4 HR, but these were crashing vMix constantly, so we replaced them with the M-Audio and Fosi - Martin did mention Tascam are renowned for having bad drivers). PC specs are same as this: https://www.vmix.com/pro...rence-systems.aspx#topaz

The main issue we are having is when all 4 of these devices are plugged in it crashes vMix (we have maxed out the USB ports on the PC). These crashes have all been reported to vMix support.

Here's my question: Are we going about routing our audio out the best way? We have tried PCIe sound cards, USB audio interfaces, what else can we use that is stable and robust? How would you do it? I've read up about Dante, just don't know enough about it.

Cheers!

A single audio interface is recommended, one with as many inputs and outputs in a single device as you need.
The UMC404HD us very popular, with the UMC1820 available if you need a very large number of inputs and outputs.

Once a single audio interface is chosen, then the ASIO driver should be installed and used exclusively in vMix for both input and output.
The ASIO driver can be determined by selecting an Audio Input device and seeing if it provides all the various channels under the Audio Channels dropdown.

Finally, many audio mixers these days have built in audio interfaces that provide access to multiple input and output channels via an ASIO driver, so check the manufacturer to see if this is available.

Today I have purchased and installed a UMC1820.

All other devices have removed and ASIO4ALL has been installed.

I have set the Audio Outputs A B C D in vMix to the ASIO4ALL and assigned them in the OUT in ASIO4ALL, but they do not appear to be coming into the UMC1820.

Do I need to assign in vMix them to 1+2 3+4 etc?

Is there anything else I need to do?

ASIO4ALL should not be installed for this device, so please remove that.

The UMC drivers from the Behringer site already have ASIO drivers built in that are designed for the device:

https://www.behringer.co...uct.html?modelCode=P0B2J

These allow selecting individual channels when going to Add Input -> Audio Input in vMix
Individual channels are also assigning on the Settings -> Audio outputs, by selecting the same device and selecting from the channels dropdown (1 + 2, 3 + 4 etc)

Thanks, now uninstalled.

I'll take a closer look at the routing when the studio is free.

And we have crashed again! Hasn’t even been running for 7 hours!

Report sent again from vMix.

Purchased and installed a UMC1820 today, removed all other audio devices and removed ASIO4ALL as requested.
