I obtained a vMix template written for 23.x.x, which has PRV in the Input Window instead of CUT. How can you change the PRV (preview) to CUT?

Not sure I understand your question, but guess a non-Preview Click behaviour have been set for the Input.
Just change it back.

I don't know how to do that. I didn't change it. It came with a third-party template.

Do you mean "Mouse Click Action"?
cog wheel of Input ===> General tab ===> "Mouse Click Action" dropdown menu

Yes, ironically that is exactly what it wa. But I did not find it until after I sent the reply. I tried doing that initially, however it would not stay set so must have been something I was doing. You are correct. That fixed it I was unaware we could do that. I am a vmix novice and overwhelmed by the capabilities of the software.
