Been evaluating using Wirecast or vMix for streaming a while now. My choice finally is vMix.
For many reason's but above all, the flexibility that Martin has, listening to user input/ideas and working them out. I've followed this closely in the V13 discussions.
The only thing I really miss that the other product has is the ability to stream to several locations at once.
For instance: Streaming live to both Justin.Tv & Churchstreaming.Tv or Ustream as an example. There as some sites that host LIVE events and I'd like to stream from one system to two locations LIVE.
Anyone else see this as a "would like to have"? v14 maybe?

you can usethe vMix Video video device to stream on several programs at the same time. vMix uses the cmd line of FMLE and it allows only for 1 destination.

Thank you for taking the time to help, but I'm afraid I don't understand. Are you referring to some kind of setup via the External tab? regards, MartinJ

Martin. To stream to multiple locations you need to open multiple instances of FMLE or any other encoder you choose to use. When doing this you send a feed out of vMix by using the external function. FMLE will then see vMix as a camera/video input. However, due to the way in which FMLE works you might find that CPU usage when streaming to multiple locations becomes an issue. So the advice here is to send the vMix signal, via the external or Full Screen functions to a second PC which then handles the streaming or encoding. You can also use hardware encoders to tkae the load. I use two Avermedia LGPs chained in series via HDMI, to stream to two seperate locations.

Ask, Thanks for that. I'll look at it. I see the reasoning re using a second PC. Early days yet and much to learn. I'll look into connecting two pc's too in a future highly mobile (as cheap as poss) setup. Not that it has to be a cheapo setup, just short of cash for extra investment until I get this show on the road streaming small live gigs.
