The current method of moving Inputs from one location to another is cumbersome and needs significant improvement. Here are some suggestions:
). When creating a PTZ camera preset input from a primary camera source (create input at this position), allow the user to specify the location number to which the new input will be placed. The current method places all new inputs at the end of the input list. For productions with more than 5 or 6 rows of inputs, the drag-n-drop methods (one input at a time) is frustrating, often requiring more than one drag-n-drop move. The alternative method requires the cog right-click, Move to…and the user must click the bottom arrow in the list of inputs until the desired input number (location) scrolls up.
). When moving existing inputs via the cog right-click, allow the user to input the specific input number to which the input(s) are to be moved as advocated in 1 above.
). Allow inputs to be selected as a group for movement within a production. Let user use Ctrl-click or shift-click (mirror functionality in Windows File Explorer) to select the inputs that need to be moved…and then right-click and specify the input number to which the grouped inputs should be moved.
). Using the same Ctrl-click or shift-click functionality noted in 3 above, allow users to collapse/expand all selected inputs as a group.
). Using the same Ctrl-click or shift-click functionality noted in 3 above, allow users to copy/paste certain parameters as a group. Examples might include: applying categories, layers, positions, triggers.
