I've worked out a way to mount one of my camBLOCK motion control modules to my primary Livestream camera dolly – see here:
https://f.io/jI72NbXr
In that little video I'm starting the move myself using the proprietary Android software, but the system can also receive a GPI trigger to start a move.
The moco control module (the little box with the antennas on it that I zoom in on in the video) has a 10-pin LEMO connector that provides a bunch of functionality, including GPI control. Basically, I need to connect two wires to Pin 8 & Pin 6 and then touch them together to start the move (so pull Pin 8 to ground (pin 6).
I've ordered one of the XKeys USB GPIO modules - in the hope that it could help me do this:
https://www.x-keys-uk.co...ral-purpose-input-output
Vmix can send commands to this device:
https://www.vmix.com/kno...ys-usb-gpio-instructions
But I'm finding it hard to understand whether that would give me the ability to "touch" two wires together.

It feels like the kind of thing that needs a custom Arduino controller – something that sits with the moco module with wires connected to Pin 6&8, and is connected to my network over Wifi (ideally) or Ethernet. And then use something like Vicreo, MIDI or OSC to send a trigger or activator from Vmix to the arduino to tell it to cross the wires?
I'm also looking to use Central Control in this setup, as it will be driving my teleprompter. So the trigger command could come from Central Control over MIDI or OSC or something similar.

Apologies for the gaps in my knowledge here. If anyone has some advice on whether I should pursue the X-Keys route, or the custom Arduino route – that would be hugely appreciated.

Hi,

I am not one to needlessly spam our products here, but seeing as you already mentioned it.. If you send a request via our contact form we'd be glad to help you figure this one out.
