As a TD it would be nice to have my Director's mike mixed into my Headphones. Sure, I can do it in an external mixer, but I wanted to see if it was possible to use vMix EDIT: I still want to hear the Master and be able to soloing adudio inputs.
Headphones set to "Realteak Headphones" BusA set to "Realtek Headphones"
Input Testvideo Audio on and sent to Master Audio Input DirectorMic Audio on, but no Bus A to route it to
Trick: Headphones set to "Default Windows playback device" )which I have set tp Realtek Headphones. Viola! Bus A appears and it works...
Stupid idea, or sound (sic!) reason why I should not be able to do this without fooling vMix?

I have set my master to enabled and my headphone to my usb headset. When I add a mic I can hear it at the headphone. You can use the audio input settings to reduce headphone volume or disable it (buttom left) you can also use the matrix to rout it differently.

And you hear the mic in the headphone without it going to the Master?

Yes, it depends what you listen to on the headset. Try to deselect the master in the channel matrix. I guess that will help you.

Sorry, I was probably unclear in that I did not explicitly say that I still want to hear the Master in my headphoned.

thanks Mavik! I finally understand what you mean. My bad, did not read your reply properly.
Still, I think it is strange that I cannot have multiple Audio outputs going to the same device. And I am not so happy that it looks like I am sending an Audio Input to Master while I am in fact not doing that. Even so, I will have a happy director next week :D

What?
Just set the headphones to your headphones. Set Bus A to "Enabled"
If you don't solo bus A, you'll hear the master output by default. If you Solo Bus A, you'll hear anything you're sending Bus A (such as your directors mic).
I'm confused what you're trying to achieve if it's not that?

Mavik helped me with a workaround for the use case I described. Even so, it is not possible to set Headphone and Bus A to the same device in Audio output settings. I have not tried other combos, but I guess the issue is the same there. Two Windows apps (e.g. Edge and VLC) can both play at the same time to my speakers/headphone. Try for yourself, on my PC Bus A won't show up in the Audio mixer. audio-outputs.jpg (20kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

You've just completely ignored me?
Set Bus A to "Enabled". It doesn't need to be set to a direct output.
If you then have your headphones set correctly, when you SOLO Bus A it will play through your headphones.
If you unsolo it, you'll hear Master.
