We've been using vMix for a few years now and it's served us well during the pandemic with the emphasis on what goes out to YouTube.
The balance is now changed with about a 70% focus on in church presentation, so we're asking if vMix is still the right product for us...

Is vMix capable of pushing two live productions out at the same time.
For example,
  • one to the front of house monitors that only has the sermon slides on and at the same time
  • a multi-view of the sermon slides plus the camera showing the vicar to YouTube?

We are on v25 at the moment and given it hasn't show the inclination to upgrade to v26, we're wondering if now is the time the pay for something that does give us this functionality and flexibility.

Been doing that for a couple years. Right now with vMix 25 4K we have our Output1 stream going to Youtube with redundant connection, Output2 is a Multiview of the current Live plus all three camera for the camera operator, Output3 is to the projector screen front of house and Output4 is for the large screen TV at the back of the sanctuary. We have dual video cards in the PC so with the dual monitors used to run vMix and YouTube we have six monitors connected to one PC.

We use NDI Tools Studio Monitor to turn the NDI streams for Output2, Output3 and Output4 to the appropriate monitors. We can have something different from the Livestream on each of those other Outputs. I recommend setting up a Mix Input for each output, makes it easy to set up each of the outputs to be a different mix.

vMix 4k and Pro have been capable of doing this for quite some time. You'll want to upgrade if you have the HD version, but if you're already on 4k/pro then dive into what you can do with the other outputs as mentioned above.

Thank you very much; that sounds encouraging and I'll look into it as we do have the v25 4K.

We already output to an external Raspberry Pi for the creche (which would need same as YouTube
output) and NDI for Camera capture; it was just the step of adding the extra on top of what goes to front-of-house.

Yes, that makes sense to us the front-of-house output as an input - brilliant!
