Hi all,

my setup:
i5-2400
16g ram
ASRock Z68-Pro3
2*Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro HDMI input (with Canon HV30 HDV)
1*Logitech C910 webcam
Ustream Producer
Graphic Card: Intel HD2000 to ASUS nVidia 550ti

I used to use vMix to manage 3 of my cams and set External Out to Ustream Producer for streaming last few weeks,
and it works fine.

But it seems a little bit laggy when I trying to streaming and recording with Ustream Producer at the same time,
so I bought a new graphic card yesterday, but vMix virtual capture shows nothing but black in my Ustream Producer,
right after I installed my new graphic card, could this be a driver problem?

and one more thing, when I try to streaming with vMix and FMLE this morning,
I've found there is only one "input size" for option in the video setting (720*576)
it used to be many options as I can remember.
and it also shows a black screen in FMLE when I set vMix virtual capture as my input source.

Hi Noah,

If FMLE and Ustream are showing up as 720x576 this means that somehow the connection between vMix and the programs is not working.
I would recommend reinstalling vMix 2012 and restarting the computer to see if it fixes the issue.

The nVidia 550 is a good graphics card so it shouldn't cause any issues.

Martin

Hi Martin,

after a clean reinstall my windows 7, now vMix virtual capture with FMLE is okay,
but it is still black in my Ustream Producer and Wirecast (a trial version),
is there any other way to solve this problem?

Thanks,

-Noah

Hi,

Couple of things to check:

1. Make sure vMix is running and Start is green under External Output before running these programs.
2. Try some different Output Format options under the Performance tab in vMix settings.

Hi Martin,

It is still not working with Ustream Producer, don't know why...
I really need Ustream Producer for different layers and titles.

Hi,

I only have access to the free version of UStream Producer which loads the vMix Virtual Capture fine.
Can you test that version to see if its any different?

If it is showing a blank screen, in all the cases I have seen it means UStream Producer was opened after vMix.
vMix always needs to be opened first and the external output started before any other programs are open otherwise it will show a black window.

Martin

Hi,

As I have mention above, streaming with vMix and Ustream Producer (Pro) was fine for the past few weeks,
It was fine when I use onboard graphic card (Intel HD2000), but after installed new nVidia 550ti,
it only shows a blank screen, and I had try some different versions of nVidia drivers or Ustream Producer/Producer Pro and Wirecast trial version,
and even reinstall my Windows 7, it's still blank.

and yes, I know the vMix has to be opened first, that is how I broadcast for last few weeks,
suddenly it shows only a blank screen after installed my new graphic card...

The new feature "RTMP Support" is cool, hope someday I can stream with vMix only,
because FMLE 3.2 loading is high for my PC when streaming.

by the way, is it possible to customize the RTMP output (like 960*540) in the 2012 v2?

Regards,

-Noah

Hi,

If the issue has only started since installing the nVidia card, make sure you are using the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com

RTMP support is for input only, i.e adding an RTMP source as an input in vMix.
FMLE is recommended for RMTP output as it is actually the best CPU wise, as any sort of streaming will use a lot of CPU regardless of program.
If vMix did RMTP output directly, CPU usage would still be just as high, as it still has to compress into an h264 stream.

Martin

Hi,

after I tried some different output format, it works again!
now it is fine when I use "YUY2" in my setting.

one more question, is it possible to set Virtual Capture output size to 960*540 in v2?
I prefer to stream with that size, hope I can customize it.

Regards,

-Noah
