Good morning, all
Over the last month or two, we have run into an issue with the feed from our PTZOptics camera freezing. It's a pretty easy fix in our case, but still very inconvenient when it happens during the livestream of our church service. The current "fix" is to right click the preview for that input and click "reset." The problem is it's happening 5-10 times or more during a 1 hour long stream.
We had the issue a few times about a year or so ago when we were using OBS, but switching to vMix ended it, until we upgraded PCs. We were running the stream from an old laptop that was on its last leg. Everything is better with the new PC, aside from this freezing issue.
Here's the info on what we're currently using:
Camera:
PTZ Optics camera model PT20X-USB-WH-G2
(Connected to back of PC via USB 3.0)
Camera is controlled with Huddlecam HD Joystick
PC:
Intel i7 12th Generation
16gb DDR4 RAM
1 TB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
Windows 11 Home
Internet connection via Ethernet
Other inputs:
Sound: Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 (usb 3.0)
Words / Slides: Elgato CamLink 4k (usb 3.0)
I've updated the drivers / firmware etc for the camera
I've replaced the USB 3.0 cable that connects the camera to the PC
In the Windows power settings, I have the PC set to optimum performance
In power settings, I have disabled "USB Selective Suspend"
These are all the "solutions" I've been able to find and try so far. My English degree
didn't teach me anything about this, and I'm at a loss.
I don't know if there's a way to revert to an older camera firmware version and if that would help / hurt, or what. or if there's a vMix update I don't know about, but I'm trying everything I can to fix it, but am at a loss.
Thanks ahead of time for your input and help!
Also, here's a very non-professional "schematic" of our setup.
