I`m hoping to make a script that sets a title text to a specific "data sources" source.
Anyone know how to do this?

Why am I doing it this way?
Because what I`m really trying to do is set up a streamdeck, using companion, to get the name of a player and apply it to a title.
There will be one streamdeck button for each player.

I use a data source with 170+ entries for lower thirds in combination with a stream deck. You can set the row (DatasourceSelectedRow) with each button. With another datasource I use the next and previous buttons to get a sequential forward/backward (DataSourceNextRow/DataSourcePreviousRow)

You can do this with Streamdeck direct or via Companion, up to you.

Another approach would be to use a dynamic input. This makes sense if you have x inputs and y actions for each input. In this case you need the inputs and the actions as buttons and two presses. #1 selec the input #2 select the action. But you won't need the x*y number of buttons.

I appreciate the answer but how exactly do you do that?

I can see in companion there`s a "DatasourceSelectedRow"
I can`t even figure out how that can be used to select a given table, column and row from my google sheet document.

I can see it asks for "Name,Table,Index"
I`m assuming this is (in my case):
Name: Google (because I`ve renamed my google sheet to Google under manage data sources)
Table: Spillernavn (That`s the name you give the tab inside google sheets)
Index: Here I`m completely lost. Surely I have to assign both a column and a row?

And once that`s solved there is also the issue of how to assign that to the correct title input and layer.

Thanks. I found the solution but not through those videoes though.

Not sure if this is helpful to others but what I had missed was the option of selecting "selected row" inside the title editor. Once that was set properly everything made sense.

I now have a streamdeck with one button for each (football) player. Press the button and graphics with the players name and stats/yellow/red card will appear. This is for football. Since I use Companion I also made a title in vmix which only function is to be a source of info so that the streamdeck can display the players shirt number and name.

Thanks for the help!
