We use vMix all the time also together with our NDI PTZ Cams. Sometime via NDI, sometimes via HDMI/SDI capture cards.
To create a dynamic stream we often use the MERGE transition so overlays with Camera inputs are flying in/out of the field of vision.

However, having the Cams on the Layers will always trigger the Tally R/G to be on forever. Even if the seen picture is not in the frame.

So it would be really nice to have an option which would disable the Tally light if a Camera is not really visable in the frame!

Can you suggest a criteria to do so ? It is still part of the "input" being displayed even of you don't see it hence still active .
Maybe make a script to check if it is out of the "frame" bounds yourself if you personally need this

As you mention merging ( for then animation effect) this means you have at least 2 inputs with the same sources so set an activate trigger to the input and not your camera

As an idea - add a separate column of checkboxes to the multiview settings that enable telly output

Ok, so how are we going to tell then when the "image" is in view and tally is needed ?

As mentioned , a script can check the position of said input (in frame view or not) from the vMix Api

The tally currently stays on, even if you disable a layer, thats not helpful imo.

There should be an option to only turn on the RED tally if the input is actually seen in the view window. It should be off if the layer with the input is moved off screen, if its completely covered via another layer or if the layer with that source is disabled. Simply, you see the input on the screen, you should have a tally light. You don't see it on the screen, there should not be a tally light.
Same goes for the GREEN tally, if the upcoming scene includes the input visable in the viewing area, it should light up (result after you've cut/fade/merged to that preview). Otherwise it should stay off.

We have productions with 40+ "scenes", i cannot make a script for each scene, would be too time consuming on the fly. Also, can a script access the tally function of an NDI source directly?

We need an integrated solution. Other solution i could think of - if its possible via a script - to do a specific input naming and a script is directly enabling disabling tally lights depending on this naming scheme and if the input/scene is live as program or preloaded in preview.
