Hi All,

If I use the NDI Screen Capture utility on one PC (Not the HX one) I notice that this is very smooth as long as I am OUT OF FOCUS from vmix.
As soon as I focus the VMIX application NDI Drops frames. You can see this in my network diagram.

With the VMIX Desktop Capture utility I do no notice this but the framerate of that one is not consistent enough for gaming related content.

When using the NDI Screen Capture HX one I get frame lag no matter what if I focus or out of focus the vmix application.
Is this a known issue and can I do anything about it?

I'm glad to have found someone with a similar issue to myself.

I'm having the same network traffic drop off when I focus VMix on my stream laptop, which is newer and uses windows 11.

I noted as well that the issue also occurs even with NDI Studio Monitor, as well the issue only exists when using the Ethernet on the laptop, using Wifi doesn't drop any frames, but isn't a quality solution.

Just for clarification.
Computer 1: Gameplay with NDI Screen Capture
Computer 2: vMix receiving the NDI
All is good on computer 2 but if you have vMix in focus it starts to lag on the network?

That's correct. When VMix is not in focus the network traffic on the receiving PC sits around 110Mb/s and when I bring it back into focus it drops off. It's the same with Studio Monitor on that PC.

Interesting. Thank you for clarification. I'll try to reproduce and see what I get.

What I did to reproduce is on computer 1 played a YT (1080) and grabbed it on computer 2. I had fluctating bandwidth 50-80mbps based more on content. But when that was kinda stable I switched between apps. Some were even hiding vMix interface and nothing happened to the bandwidth due to app switching. I loaded the switch and network with 10G SDVoE traffic to see if that made a difference. No, it didn't, although the SDVoE was doing 8gbps bidirectional.

Either I do something different or I can't reproduce.

Understood. I've just discovered that I can work around the issue by running ethernet through a USB ethernet dongle as opposed to the port on the laptop. I'll try reinstalling drivers for that controller maybe.

I need to test further but it appears that uninstalling and reinstalling the ethernet adapter in Device Manager has resolved the issue.
