Hello,

First of all, thank you all for the support and information you all share in this forum. I have tried to find something related to my problem but I can't see where the issue comes from.

I have just installed Vmix 25.0.0.34 in an Aorus 15p, a pretty powerful laptop with the following specs:

Aorus 15P
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz
32 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU

I also use a blackmagic decklink duo 2 within a Sonnet Echo Express SE1 Thunderbolt 3 Chasis as a capture card.

The project I have in Vmix is a multicamera production with 3 SDIs inputs in 1920x1080 50P or 25p, a dozen of FullHD PNG images and a 8 minute mp4 videofile. The output is set to 1920x1080 50P. Everything goes fine except when I try to use the high performance modes. Whenever I tick the "Hardware encoding" feature in the Record or Stream menus or the "High input performance mode" in the Settings/Performance section, rendering time skyrockets to 90-100 ms. However, if I disable this features the render time stays between 5 and 15 ms.

I don't have the GeForce Experience software installed. Power and energy modes in the laptop are set to high performance and I have configured Windows to let Vmix use the high performance mode with the graphics card to make sure it uses the RTX3080 as the image shows.

What is wrong with my setup? Am I doing something wrong or should these high performance features within Vmix work?

Thanks!

Have you made sure that the 3080 is actually in use? You want to check that in vMix settings

Thanks Paul for the suggestion. Yes, the 3080 is in use.

Anyway, I think I've found where the problem comes from. My laptop's graphic card has Resizable Bar enabled and this is incompatible with Vmix High Performence mode.

I don't know if having resizable bar enabled is also incompatible with the "hardware encoding" mode for the stream/record flows but it seems the problem was that one..

So i just found out that "high Input Performance mode" is vMix's software version of resizeable bar. if your system is hardware configured for resizeable bar, then you should leave this box unchecked.
thanks 1 user thanked Paul Camino for this useful post.
