To the V-Mix gurus: What would it take to finally upgrade the v-Mix Call audio quality to at least 128kbps? You would attract a whole new audience for this awesome platform. There is a growing need for those who remotely record high quality audio, but still need the video feature so those who are connected can have a visual reference of those that they are having a conversation with. It has been long accepted that 64kbps is fine for voice, but fine is not high quality enough, as you can certainly hear artifacts in audio stream at 64. Many users would love to use V-Mix as their go-to platform for both video AND audio. Any chance there will be a tweak?

The bit rates you cite are generally used in reference to MP3. vMix Call does not use MP3 encoding for the audio.

Being WebRTC based it uses Opus. Opus outperforms MP3 by a minimum of 2x for the same bitrate.

If you are seeing audio problems it's very likely from a factor other than the encoding bit rate. Echo cancellation, noise supression, poor mic or poor mic placement all impact the result.

vMix Call is first and foremost about bein convenient. If you want detailed control of all aspects of the connection, you may need to look elsewhere.

Using ipDTL, which also uses Opus, one is able to adjust audio send quality between 16 and 256 kbps. The sound quality is superior at 128 compared to 64 on that platform.
