Has anyone tested the insta360 link in a vMix production? I don't normally use USB cameras, but I have a client who would like to try this for some of her webinars.

We tried the ObsBot tiny, but for some reason, it only seemed to display 4 or 5 frames/second, so we sent it back. It showed full framerate when not going through vMix, but seemed to choke up when put into production.

Any information would be helpful. I may also order OBSBot's USB to HDMI converter as well to use with my ATEM if it works.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Quick update: The Insta360 does work well with vMix. No NDI or Virtual camera workarounds are necessary.

When selecting the camera for the input, I found that selecting MJPG in the "Video Format" dropdown menu did the trick.

4K works no problem.

Did you load the software for the device? Or just use it natively?

There are reports that the software pings a server in China routinely, all day long. Also, the TOS allow a lot of data collection.

Camera works out-of-box in vMix without the software - but then you can only use the gestures (obviously).
I must admit that I got it in anticipation of the expected native support in vMix r26.
You can run the control software "minimized" while using vMix, so that you have the controls ready at hand.

It probably calls home to check up on how daddy Xi and the rest of the family is doing.
In my world, I kinda expect most software to "call home to daddy" nowadays.

I highly recommend anyone to get a firewall like pfSense. Then add the pfBlocker module and load it up with geo- and tracker-blocklists...
In this little household, there is at least 200000 DNS requests or connection attempts being blocked on any day of the week (outbound) - including family calls to Google, FB, Microsoft etc.

The camera itself feels surprisingly heavy and sturdy.
It "feels" to be well build (as it should - it's not exactly a cheap webcam)
Simple and effective "monitor clip" in the base. Works well on both my desktop monitor and laptop.
I really enjoy its fast face tracking and focus capability.

Image is quite good. Better than most other (web)cameras.
I haven't had the time to really test it, but so far it seems to be a pretty solid product.

The team at Office Hours Global seem to like it. They're very experienced, so I take that as high praise.

Do the AI tracking, versatile modes, and gesture control also worked?

They do all work as long as you run the software in a taskbar mode on the bottom of the screen, or minimized. I'm having some lag problems on my laptop, while it seems responsive on my desktop. I've tried the MJPG mode as well as the low latency and they both remain laggy on my laptop.
