Good morning!

I have an unusual question for you, but I don't know the answer myself.

I have a lot of live streams with remote guests.

Sometimes the guest are not well prepared to make recordings.
For example, they have poor lighting, a bad camera, bad background, bad suit etc.

I always try do something with these guys before I go live. For example to change their directions of camera to look better on video, improve the lighting etc.

Before the meeting I always send to guest short tutorial in PDF where I described the good tips, how to prepare for recordings properly.

The problem is that sometimes the end client complains to me that the remote guest looks wrong on the final stream.
Client think that me - as a video producer - is responsible for everything, including the remote guest.

In my opinion is not fair.

I'm trying to do my best, but I can't prepare for recordings for them.

How about responsibility for this remote recording?

I'm the fully resposible for remote guest as a vMix producer, or main resposibility remain on guest side, what do you think?

I think you should put it in your terms/contract with the end client (whoever pays you to do the job) that you will provide advice to the remote guests but cannot take responsibility for how they ultimately present themselves, in terms of their camera, lighting, sound, background, etc.

Yes I will do like this, and put the right terms in my contract.
Thanks for advice!
