Hi Folks,
We are having some problems with our Black Magic Design Duo 2 capture card.
Specs:
• Desktop Capture Software: Version 11.5.1
• vMix version 24
• Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64bit
• Duo 2 connected on PCIEX8 lane
• Intel Core i9 9900K 8 Core LGA 1151 3.6GHz CPU Processor
• Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
• Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming 3x 8G OC Graphics Card
• Using the Duo 2 primarily with vMix

The Duo 2 was working OK with input/outputs working:

Scenario 1: PC was restarted.
• After the restart, the Duo 2 could NOT be recognised under Desktop Capture/vMix Camera inputs.
• Then we did this: PC switched off; Duo 2 removed from PC; PC restarted; PC shutdown, Duo 2 re-inserted, PC started – Duo 2 now recognised.

Scenario 2: PC lost power and shut down abruptly
• After the boot up of PC, the Duo 2 could NOT be recognised under Desktop Capture/vMix Camera inputs.

The PC was started a day later, and the Duo 2 inputs were all available Desktop Capture/vMix Camera inputs.

On a side note, we had been running the Duo 2 and an Intensity Pro 4K on the same PC previous to the above issues and we thought running the Intensity on the same PC was the problem, but maybe it’s not the fact and the Duo 2 issues are not related to the presence of the Intensity.

Any advice, or suggestions to help us through this would be appreciated. Happy to answer any follow up questions to explain any questions you may have.

Many Thanks, in advance.
Cheers
Gerry.

A few things to check on:

Do you see the card in Device Manager?
Can you open the card with other software? (like OBS or Blackmagic's capture software)
Are you on the latest firmware of the card?

Hi Paco,
thanks,
I could not see card in BMD software or vmix (do not have OBS)

Have updated to latest BMD software and so far so good. We continue to monitor.

Cheers
Gerry
