When streaming to RTMP is there an advantage to using FFMPEG or FFMPEG2? What use case would someone have for one over the other? I also read somewhere else that when you select use hardware encoder that most of the other settings have no effect on quality, is this true? I use an RTX3080 with patched drivers so I always use hardware encoding.

@ Panic

FFMPEG2 is less featured and not recommended for use as it is primarily for vMix internal testing purposes.
FFMPEG is full featured and the recommended/default encoder used by vMix.
