I have a pocket 4k, and I am getting audio latency no matter which FPS I choose. I am thinking I should be doing 24fps on the POCKET 4K, but when I look in VMIX, there is dozens of similar options for FPS and I am not sure which one to select? I am wondering if anyone can give me a best practice recommendation I should select for FPS? I am new and not very knowledgeable on these subjects and any advice you can offer is appreciated.

Firstly, 24fps is a "film emulation" mode. Video (in the USA, and on the internet) is either 30/29.97 or 60/59.94 fps, so that's what you should set it to. As to the latency from the camera output, the clue is in the product name, the fact that it's a "Cinema Camera", primarily designed for recording video files for subsequent editing. In that role, there is no requirement for the HDMI output to have the ultra-low latency that would a primary requirement in a broadcast video camera designed for studio or OB use. It's not clear whether your "audio latency" means the audio is ahead of or behind the video, nor whether this is the audio embedded in the HDMI output from the camera, or fed into vMix via a different route. If the audio is ahead of the video, then it can be delayed in vMix (in the audio settings for that input). It's not unusual to have to delay audio to match processing delays in the video, hence the reason for that setting being available.

Thank you for this excellent and helpful reply. I am not sure what is happening now, but it seems like I cannot even change the FPS AT ALL from on the backside of Pocket 4k. When would it be the case that the option for changing the FPS and even the option for changing to PRO RES, is greyed out? Is this due to some other setting I am missing ? I did not have this problem last week? I am trying different lens, and the problem is same.

Regarding you question about audio latency, I have the audio embedded in the hdmi, going from pocket 4k into the ATEM MINI PRO ISO, and then going into the laptop USB C, and into VMIX.

If I clap, and the clap sound comes after the clap, is it ahead or behind? I have been playing around with the audio delay, and it is improving I think.

This whole thing about the audio FPS is still confusing to me.

Here is what I see inside of VMIX for FPS selections when starting a new project:

My guess is to start with 4k 2160 29.97 (3840 x 2160, 29.97 fps)

However, I had wanted to go with 24FPS to get the film look, which is the reason I bought the POCKET 4K I thought, no? I am simply wanting to do talking head Youtube videos about web design in my spare bedroom, and get the cool cinematic look. Given that as my goal, do you have any advice on how to do that? I bought all of those leeming luts but I could not figure out how to get that working in Davinci, so that is a lost cause I think, so I am back to trying to get the lights to look good before shooting, but having issues with understanding best FPS, best lens, etc, I just purchased the $800 Panny 12-35mm and hoping that will help, along with another suggestion some one said about using the BM film to G5 Video LUT in the camera to get a nicely saturated Rec709 image suitable for keying?
