(Edit: the name of this topic has been changed for clarification of the use)

This might seem like an odd question, or perhaps I am missing a better solution to my challenge.

Would it be possible to add an input type that is the Output?

I am currently experimenting with what seems to be a really nice quick fix solution for adding live captions/subtitles to the video. For example to support those hard of hearing, or superimpose any live text like lyrics as the song proceeds. I know that it is quite possible already with vMix using live mode for titles. But in this case we are building it on a professional application for stenographers, which is extremely flexible in terms of text positioning, font size and color, etc. And there is wireless communication from the typist to the production PC.

Now I would like to be able to send two live streams. One where the output is the regular video mix, and one where the output is the regular video mix with the text superimposed. Since vMix only supports one stream I came up with the idea to feed the text-added video to a an External HDMI output. And then route that signal into a Vidiu for streaming.

Problem is that a Multiview that would be the External's source cannot use Output as a source.

Anyone who understands what I am trying to do, and have an idea for a solution?

With vMix 4K you have two external outputs with selectable overlays. Use two instances of Open Broadcaster Software (https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/opening-2-instances-of-obs-at-the-same-time.2089/) to send your streams.
I don't know if this will work with FMLE.

Thanks ovinas!

You killed two birds with one stone there (here in Sweden we say "hit two files in one smash").

First, you nicely made me aware of that "I am missing a better solution to my challenge" (remove an overlay)
Second, you save us the cost of a Vidiu.

(and perhaps, thirdly although not intentionally, another push towards having OBS integrated in vMix).

Well, I still think that it would be very useful if Output (and Preview) could be used as Input sources. For example a studio monitor Multiview with information for the studio host/panel overlayed on Output.

I'd like to point out to Martin that my question is if it is possible (from a vMix design perspective).
If it is, I will for sure make it a feature request.
