I am trying to write my own app for using the API, and I thought I knew where the port info was stored, but it appears the vMix*.exe.config file doesn't get updated with the port or port enabled settings, so.... As I have not found them in the registry either, just where is this information stored?

I disagree! It shows you what the default port value is, but what if you've changed it?
I've been through the help files for the API, but funny thing is, if you don't have the web service enabled, and your software doesn't know the port, you can't access the API.
I am trying to read this information so that my software will know what port to connect to, and if it can even connect to it, automatically on the local machine.
If the API isn't even enabled, there is no point in wasting process cycles trying to communicate with it.
I am trying to automate the connection process on the local machine, removing the need to manually configure the connection.

doggy wrote:Do you mean like the way vMix social connects (or not) ? I haven't played much with social, but I suspect so. I'll have to take a closer look and see. I actually found it today using SysInternals Process Monitor, so all is good. This question can now be closed.
