We have directors that want to Preview a title in an overlay. It may have transitions, in and out. For example, a sports "standings" graphic with fancy animations. The director sees it in preview with the next shot, great! But he wants to take it just like that without trigging the animation on the build. (No time for it in the show)

So, we need to Cut from preview without any transitions. Is this possible? I think we need a cut modifier in the API maybe.

edit these titles (designer) by taking the animations out of them

Slightly condescending..... not my first rodeo.

No, We don't want two versions. The director makes the call instantly, if they want to take it with animations or not. The TD can't swap out the precomposed shot in preview with the non-animated version.
The reason for a cut modifier to optionally "take" preview without transitions.

possible option : when automatic play with transition is off one can cut without the animation . can combine with a play shortcut or Titlebeginanimation shortcut when needed maybe

Good Idea,
I will look at going that road a bit more, but a lot more scripting keeping track of each titles "condition"......
