I have tried to get a reliable remote desktop solution working for our AWS instance for vmix
What I need:
A remote desktop solution That successfully utilises my three 1920x1080 local monitors and can see them as three individual displays
A (hopefully) built in way of utilising my USB devices (APC40, USB Mic, Midi Keyboard, APC MINI, Focusrite Scarlett 2i4)
Things I have tried:
PARSEC:
No good for multiple monitor support for how I use it, also no native USB re-direction built in as far as i know
NICE DCV:
Multi-monitor works well (until it randomly crashes on re-sizing) USB connections work or don't work, depends on the day of the week
TERADICI:
Have spent weeks trying to get a trial licence to test it out and already having installation issues. Also reseller insists on minimum purchase of 5 licences, we only need one although we will consider if it ultimately works well
Anyone use anything successfully / reliably?

I'd recommend just using Windows RDP. It has support for multi-monitor, with Win10 remote performance no longer suffers (how it did with Win7), and you can pass through certain USB devices. (You can always go third party for the USB as well with something like https://www.net-usb.com/usb-over-rdp/)

I'm at the beginning of figuring this out myself. So far just a few first steps with a Teradici CAS for Windows Server 2019 (NVIDIA). In other words, I really don't know - just want to point at this (perhaps outdated) KB article vMix in the cloud on Amazon EC2 - Quick OverviewQuote:4. Remote Desktop (RDP) should not be used to login and control vMix.
Instead use a direct screen capture solution such as VNC, TeamViewer or AnyDesk, or for best performance consider the cloud service provided desktop login solution such as Teradici which may be offered for an additional license fee.

I know that used to be in there because performance pre-Win10 was abysmal. With Win10 you can RDP and I've never been able to see a change in performance in vMix.
There may be other reasons to not use it that I'm not aware of but I've been able to switch between RDP and local console without any hiccups from vMix.
Even so- RDP is built in so there's no harm in trying as you won't need to spend anything on software licensing.

I have had reasonable success with NICE DCV including USB devices except for my Behringer 404HD. I haven't had any multi monitor crashes, but I am only using two monitors. I even got NDI working between 2 AWS Instances. I tried Teradici, but didn't like the licensing requirements. I also use chrome remote desktop, but that is not great with Multi Monitor.

Teradici is probably the best option for what you want. Use the Teradici AMI available on the AWS Marketplace. You can purchase a license that is priced by the hour (something like .50/hour) or you can buy a single annual license for around $240US. Buying direct from AWS is the only way around the 5 license minimum Teradici direct requires.
A number of us have had better results with USB devices by running a VPN server inside of AWS, and bringing those devices in via VPN rather than USB redirect. I had some issues with vMix and redirected MIDI controllers, like the Akai APC Mini and APC240, including crashes and vMix hanging on exit.
The best solution is Parsec on a very large monitor, like a 43". Parsec is much more stable and responsive. With the large monitor you can run your apps in different windows on a single large display. vMix looks baller on a 43". The only drawback to Parsec in my mind it won't pass your microphone through. I was a big Teradici user but once I understood Parsec I changed my workflow to accommodate. We are using Parsec Teams if that makes a difference.
NICE DCV works pretty well also but as you've learned, vMix does not like the screen resizing. My advice is size your screens, lock the resolution then run vMix and don't resize again. We run batch files on startup to size the displays 3x1080 using the NICE DCV CLI.
SplashTop is another app gaining popularity although I have not run vMix with it.
A lot of people recommend running vMix on a G4dn4XL instance but we have had much better results on 8XL instances.

We use Splashtop with much success. That or Parsec which is pretty good especially when running adobe or other graphically intense apps on the remote computer. it was originally designed to play games on other people's systems so that's why it's a nice tool for remote production.
