Hey, I'm using vMix 4K for about 2 years.

I'm planing to buy new equpment and would love to use a 8K Input via "Blackmagic Design Decklink 8K Pro" in vMix and stream the signal in 1080p.

The Point is that I would love to use just one 8K Camera for a wide-Shot and would crop/zoom all Closeups I need out of one Camera. So Every Protagonist on the Stage will automaticly look in the right Camera, I just need one Teleprompter, ...

But in this List "https://www.vmix.com/purchase/" I see the Maximum Resolution is "4096 x 2160".

So is this the Maximum Resolution for the Output / Recording / Stream or is this also the Maximum Resolution for the Inputs?

Would Love to hear from you

Greetings,
Tobi :)

Even if you could put the card into 8K mode I believe vMix internally renders each input at its native resolution (whatever you have selected) before further processing happens. I've had a similar issue where I wanted to export an input via NDI and it always runs in 4k mode when I only need 720 out.

Someone like Martin would need to chime in on how the internals work.
