Good evening,
I am having trouble with getting my camcorder to show up via firewire video card on the software for streaming purposes and etc..
Any suggestions, input, advice, and etc... What has worked for you guys? If you're still using a firewire connection???
I am using a JVC GY-HD200 professional camcorder.

please describe what is the problem...
Does vMix see your card or not?
Did you set your camera correctly according to compatible modes for 1394 output?

Yes vMix is not recognizing my card and my camera is set to and ready to go in the 1394 mode

Are you sure this card still work?
Can you use this card with another software, like VLC, FMLE, etc... ?

Which edition of Windows are you running and what driver are you using for the Firewire IEEE 1394 Host Controller?
Typically, vMix wont see the card but rather, your system needs to recognize your camera as a connected device, and then vMix will see your camera.

I am using windows 10
Not sure on the driver... where do I go to find that exact info out at it?
My computer does recognize my card, not sure about my camera

If the camera is plugged in via Firewire, it should show up in "Device Manager" under Imaging Devices.
As DWAM asks, are you able to use (see) the camera with other software, like an NLE like Adobe Premier?
I have found that JVC cameras can be temperamental when connecting to a PC via Firewire as to "who is on first" and I can't remember which is which but I think it's the camera has to be off when connecting and then turning it on once connected, but it might be the other way around.

I am currently using the following:
1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller
this is what is listed in my device manager under -
-IEEE 1394 Host Controllers
-1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller
Do I need to have/use 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)???
And no, my camera is not showing up on other software...
I've tried VLC and nothing shows up...

Before I try to replace the driver, I'd try another camera first. Can you find another 1394 camcorder somewhere?

@ bwash1cor22 I know when using Windows 7, I had to use Legacy Drivers, but AFAIK, I don't require that option in Windows 10. Does it give you an option for Legacy drivers? If so, try it. Also, have you tried different Off/On scenarios? (i.e. 1. Computer off, Camera On and then turn on computer and 2.
