I am looking for a PTZ camera that supports auto tracking to keep our predecessor in the center of the screen while he or she walks back and forth. PTZ optics supports Smart Tracking, but I don't know or that is build in or depends on external software. I saw a demo on youtube, but it doesn't seems to be very smooth. edit: See here, you need a seperate Smart Tracking box for it.Does vMix support this?

vMix will accept a video feed from a PTZ camera. It's up to the camera to do the tracking. I do not think that PTZ Optics ever really brought the SmartTracking to market.
Expect to compromise somewhere... function, price, operability. If it's good and smooth, it won't be cheap. Expect $6K plus. If it's cheap, don't expect smooth function. ETC.

Logitech is working on something they call Smart Sight, which is a form of auto tracking. However, it's only applicable to their video conference cameras; MeetUp and Rally. MeetUp is not at all applicable to live streaming. Rally is a more general purpose USB 3 attached PTZ camera. On the consumer end you have this sort of thing: https://shop.movensee.com/en/?id_country=21Schools often use auto tracking cameras: http://communication.aver.com/model/ptc500s
