Hi,

I see that the only way to have audio work is to disable this feature. This is a problem when live, as a participant joining after we are live, regardless of the reason, will come in unmuted and live, as we use mixed audio.

Is there a plan to have this option work with vMix? We have our own Zoom SDK on our platform and this option has not caused any issues, so I would assume it's something that could work. Then have a menu in vMix to toggle the return feed mute/unmute.

Thank you,
richardgatarski

I think (have not tested) you can turn this option on in Zoom AFTER vMix have joined the meeting. Thus muting participants entering after that.

Even so, why can't you just in vMix turn the Audio off for Zoom Input(s) intil you let them in?

Unfortunately, you have to deactivate it at the account level for the vMix integration to work. Disabling it inside the meeting works for all participants except the vMix integration. So that's probably a bug that needs fixing.

Many reasons, one is if we're already live and a participant joins, we don't want them to make noise or talk over the event.

This is a limitation of the Zoom Meeting SDK on Windows when dealing with raw audio/video sources. Audio is not able to be started in the SDK when this option is turned on.
We have reported this to Zoom in the hope for a solution.

If there are other Zoom Meeting SDK users who have found a solution, then please contact us as we would be interested in knowing how you solved it.
(Specifically, avoiding the error message SDKERR_NOT_JOIN_AUDIO when attempting to subscribe to raw audio in the SDK, when the host has enabled Mute upon entry)

Regards,

Martin

Thanks to the Zoom team for advising on a way around the Mute all participants upon entry issue.
You can find the update in the latest plugin available here:

https://www.vmix.com/zoomplugindownload

For other SDK developers that stumble upon this thread, the solution is to run the meeting function JoinVoip() just prior to setting up the raw audio.

Wow this is amazing! Good job! It works great here. Both account and meeting have "mute participant upon Entry" and audio now connects. Simply sending an "Ask to Unmute" as the host unmutes the vMix audio feed. 10/10
Thank you!
