Hello,
I'm a broadcast engineer for a local tv station with a decent number audience. I've had the chance to recently test out VMix at a friends suggestion, and loved the program as I've been looking for something like it for a long time. I'm even interested in promoting it to my station as a possible backup Studio Control solution. However my only problem is that the program does not use our codec, XDCAM 1080i60 35mbit for Quicktime (though we also use the Leitch version of .mxf called .lxf). I know that I could convert the files for use in VMix, but my hope is that I could connect the machine running VMix directly to our video server and be able to play the raw files right off the RAID. This would also be our only practical way of playing video files too as the time it would take to do the conversion would not be practical in our environment.
Is there a chance of supporting this codec in the near future?
Thank you in advance for any assistance to my question.

Hi, Are you referring to the ability to play back XDCAM files in vMix? If you are able to send us a small XDCAM video clip in the format you use I should be able to work out what 3rd party plugins and codecs you need installed for playback in vMix. You can use https://fileobject.com/ to upload the clip and then email us http://www.vmix.com.au/about.aspx the link or report back here. Thanks, Martin vMix

Thanks for the sample.
I am still looking into what support is available. I have found some 3rd party codecs to play the files back under Windows but they appear to have some quality and aspect ratio issues, so not sure if there is an easy solution at this stage.
Regards,
