Hello everyone,

I would like to know if there is a way today, in 2020, to change de resolution of a stream (and the entire project and outputs) to custom numbers and image ratio. Because like many people who stream on Instagram, I want to build a project with resolution of 1080x1920 (9:16 ratio). And I expect Facebook to push us sooner or later to do 4:5 stream. When I produce normal videos for Facebook in Adobe Premiere Pro, I favor 4:5 aspect ratio because it was was proven to be be performing better in watch time and visibility on Facebook and Instagram. The ratio occupies a larger part of the phone screen, therefore the eyes of the user are more attracted to it. A 4:5 video will perform a little better than a 16:9 video, it's sad, but true.

I love 16:9, but I prefer flexibility.

The workaround I found is to create a 4k stream, then to mask every PSD with black crop bars on each side to hide the parts of the image I out of my desired ratio, resize and reposition every input manually to fit in my designated «safe area» within my cropbars, and use a third party party software like OBS to crop the cropbars and output a vertical 1080x1920 resolution stream... It's a pain in the a**.

Please implement it within vMix, as soon as possible.

Thank you!

I am new to vmix, I paid for the 4k version, it cost over 1200$ CAD.

what do I notice? impossible to do 1:1 for instagram and facebook.

hum vmix? can you come back in 2020-2021? this function has been in demand for 4 years now! please add 1:1 ASAP...

you are a professional company, I do not understand why you do not allow custom resolution..

Sure you paid that much for the 4K version ?
4k 700 US$ / Pro 1200 US$
todays exchange rate > 1 USD = 1.27 CAD

Would you mind checking the Aspect ratio/cropping setting in the quality setting of your stream settings ?

and the helpfiles come free with any license type where the aspect ratio is mentioned (under streaming quality)
